“Production investment in the implementation of an aseptic bottling line in the village of Gavrailovo, Sliven Municipality, by Nova Trade Ltd.”,
implemented with the financial support of the “Regions in Growth” Programme 2021–2027, co-financed by the European Union through the Just Transition Fund.
Objectives of the Investment
The main objective of the project is to establish a new high-tech production facility in the village of Gavrailovo, Sliven Municipality, through the implementation of a modern aseptic beverage production line and the development of a low-carbon energy infrastructure, ensuring sustainable, competitive, and energy-efficient production.
The specific objectives of the project include:
▪ Establishment of a new production facility and capacity, leading to the expansion of the company’s technical and technological capabilities and creating conditions for sustainable growth;
▪ Implementation of a safe, resource-efficient, and high-quality beverage production technology, enabling preservative-free production and reducing the use of resources (water, energy, chemicals);
▪ Ensuring energy sustainability through own renewable energy production and energy storage;
▪ Reduction of the carbon footprint and enhancement of environmental sustainability:
The new energy infrastructure and aseptic technology significantly reduce CO₂ emissions, improve production sustainability, and support the company’s low-carbon development goals;
▪ Creation of new jobs and strengthening of human capital:
The project will result in the creation of 46 new jobs across various technical and operational functions, enhancing workforce capacity and the company’s ability to operate modern technologies.
The above objectives contribute to the following goals of the Just Transition Programme:
▪ Attracting new industrial activities and private investments in affected regions;
▪ Investments in sectors with high potential for economic diversification and employment;
▪ Reducing carbon-intensive activities through the implementation of low-carbon energy technologies;
▪ Mitigating the socio-economic impacts of the coal sector phase-out through job creation;
▪ Economic revitalisation and increasing the industrial value of affected territories by restoring the functionality of an existing industrial site and transforming it into a modern production complex;
▪ Enhancing regional energy resilience and connectivity.
Through the implementation of the project, the company will achieve sustainable technological development, energy independence, and expanded production capacity, while directly contributing to the transformation, modernisation, and economic revitalisation of the region.
Project Value
Total project value: EUR 11,929,296.99, of which EUR 6,841,105.49 is non-repayable grant funding.
Timeline
Start date: 22 April 2026
End date: 22 October 2028
Expected Results
With the commissioning of the new production line, at least 46 new jobs will be created, providing a strong basis for sustainable future expansion.
The project will attract private investments and establish new production capacity in the village of Gavrailovo, Sliven Municipality — a region traditionally supplying workforce to coal mining complexes and therefore identified as a priority area for attracting new investors and developing alternative industrial activities.
By building a new production facility, the investment will support the expansion of the regional industrial base and contribute to the objectives of the Just Transition Programme to stimulate new production projects in affected territories.
The project introduces new production in the food and beverage sector — an industry with a strong capacity to absorb workforce from the energy sector.
A high-tech and environmentally efficient production facility will be implemented in the region, leading to a reduction in carbon footprint and the introduction of new production standards.
